Garden Progress.

We had a wonderful new nursery open up by us called Green Acres (http://www.idiggreenacres.com/folsom_greenacres.html).  Conveniently located next to Costco, which is conveniently located close to our house.

So we decided to go check it out today.   I loved it.  The people were so nice there and one lady in particular took a lot of time answering all of my naive California gardening questions. They also let my daughter pick out a free flower.  She chose a Mache Rose Ranunculus. So cute.

We bought 2 artichoke plants, mulch, lettuce, basil, and cilantro.  They hadn't gotten any of their succulents in yet, so we will be going back.  Once home we had to clear rocks and get planting.  We pulled out lots more weeds and cleaned it up a little more.  Little by little it is starting to look beautiful.  Here are some pics.

Putting down some mulch.  I used shredded Redwood Bark it is so soft and fluffy.
 Found my Gnomes. :)

The "Twins" as my kids named them.  Artichoke Plants.

 Lettuce.
 Stairway to heaven.
 The Ranunculus.

Lilies toes match the color of the ranunculus. Beautiful pictures, love the rock stairs. You have done a lot of work in your garden. I wish I could go outside and do some planting and digging.Enjoy your garden and sunshine.

Grandma Sanderson says:
I too noticed the cute little toes by Lily's own little plant. I bet Lily loved helping. She is probably going to be a good gardener too. Your yard will be a show place in no time. MN is under snow and ice and brrr temps.

It makes me a little jealous that you are able to garden right now. I am just itching to get out and do some yard work. but for now, I'll just enjoy your beautiful garden and get some ideas from you.
